AFTER SCHOOL SNACKS - HELP NEEDED!

WHAT IS IT? After school snacks are sold in the THS Commons to students who are staying after for sports, clubs, rehearsals, extra help, and various other activities.

WHEN: Snacks are sold Mon-Thurs and it only takes an hour (or less) from approx 2pm-3pm! You choose ANY day(s)/date(s) each month that work for you - VOLUNTEER FOR ONE DAY PER MONTH OR MANY DAYS PER MONTH - it's totally up to you and it can change from month to month! Great for folks who work remote and can scootch over to the high school as a 'late lunch hour,' or those who have flexible schedules!

WHY: it’s such an easy way to support the school (all proceeds support PTA efforts) & feed our hungry teens, it's a great way to feel connected to the school, and students enjoy having this option but we need help to continue making it happen!

Go here to sign up for a shift (or two) and encourage a friend to do it with you because volunteering is always more fun with a friend!

2025-26 REFLECTIONS ContesT

                                                                             Link to Reflections Information

The Reflections Program was developed in 1969 by Colorado’s PTA President Mary Lou Anderson to encourage students to explore their talents and express themselves. Since then, the Reflections Program has inspired millions of students to reflect on a specific theme and create original artwork. Each year, students in Grades Pre-K through 12 are recognized for bringing the theme (this year it is "I am Hopeful Because...") to life through dance choreography, film production, literature, music composition, photography and visual arts.

Students submit their artwork to Local PTAs for initial judging. In Connecticut, local PTAs submit their 1st place winning entries to the State Office. Top entries from our State PTA Reflections contest advance to National PTA for the final round of judging. National PTA winners are announced each May.

In the link above, you will find the rules for each category along with some helpful hints and the entry form. Please make sure to fill out all the fields on the form and make sure it has both your signature and your parent's signature. Please put your entry form and submission in a large envelope, or if your artwork does not fit please attach the envelope to the artwork. You may only enter one submission in each category but you may enter multiple categories.

The deadline for Reflections submissions is December 20, 2025.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to email thsptsa1234@gmail.com

Many of our Reflections artists also choose to submit their artwork to the school magazine, Creative Minds.

Creative Minds, the THS literary and art magazine that features student and staff creativity, is accepting submissions for the 25-26 edition. We feature original artwork in ANY form (writing, painting, photography, songs, videos, nail art, fashion, design, pottery, jewelry, videos, etc.)

Please consider submitting your Reflections submission to Creative Minds by following the link: https://forms.gle/XFDJ4Y2cAg7G4eJm8 (https://forms.gle/XFDJ4Y2cAg7G4eJm8)
