Information Regarding 2024-25 REFLECTIONS ContesTLink to Reflections Information Packet which contains rules for submission
The Reflections Program was developed in 1969 by Colorado’s PTA President Mary Lou Anderson to encourage students to explore their talents and express themselves. Since then, the Reflections Program has inspired millions of students to reflect on a specific theme and create original artwork. Each year, students in Grades Pre-K through 12 are recognized for bringing the theme (this year it is "I am Hopeful Because...") to life through dance choreography, film production, literature, music composition, photography and visual arts. Students submit their artwork to Local PTAs for initial judging. In Connecticut, local PTAs submit their 1st place winning entries to the State Office. Top entries from our State PTA Reflections contest advance to National PTA for the final round of judging. National PTA winners are announced each May.
Below you will find the rules for each category along with some helpful hints and the entry form. Please make sure to fill out all the fields on the form and make sure it has both your signature and your parent's signature. Please put your entry form and submission in a large envelope, or if your artwork does not fit please attach the envelope to the artwork. You may only enter one submission in each category but you may enter multiple categories.
The deadline for Reflections submissions is December 20, 2024.
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact Jen Horne at taye2taye@hotmail.com
Many of our Reflections artists also choose to submit their artwork to the school magazine, Creative Minds. Creative Minds, the THS literary and art magazine that features student and staff creativity, is accepting submissions for the 24-25 edition. We feature original artwork in ANY form (writing, painting, photography, songs, videos, nail art, fashion, design, pottery, jewelry, videos, etc.)
